A small portion of Fishers Peak State Park is now officially open to the public! 1000 acres of the 19,200-acre park are currently open, featuring over 13 miles of trails open for hiking and biking, a picnic area, and scenic views. Seasonal closures are now posted.

From I-25:

Take Exit 11 east to County Road 69-3 (Sante Fe Trail)

Travel south until you see the entrance gate and sign on the left.

 
 

 Regulations

A.      A Colorado Parks and Wildlife Vehicle Pass (Annual or Daily) is required for all vehicles entering the park. An Individual Daily Pass is required for any person who walks onto this park. Daily passes are valid from date purchased until noon the following day, and must be displayed in the vehicle.

  • The above pass types can be purchased at this location.

  • A Keep Colorado Wild Annual Pass is also available through CO Vehicle Registration ONLY. Visitors must have a valid CO motor vehicle registration card displaying a CPW logo available for inspection upon request.

B.      Day use only. Camping is not permitted.

C.      Visitors shall remain on the designated trails. View enlarged trail map here.

D.      Trails are marked for bicycle use, pedestrian use, or both. Observe signage posted.

E.       Pets or other domestic animals are prohibited.

F.       It is unlawful to remove, destroy, modify or deface any sign or marker, tree, shrub or other plant or vegetation, including dead timber and forest litter, or any object of archaeological, geological, historical, zoological or natural/environmental value or interest on this park.

G.      Fires are allowed in metal containers only.

H.         Snowmobile and off-highway vehicle use is prohibited.

I.        Parking is permitted only in designated areas.

J.       Visitors must observe raptor nest buffers and closures:

  • From March 15 – July 31st, all visitors must remain outside of the ½ -mile buffer established for Peregrine Falcon nests as posted.

  • From December 15 – July 15, all visitors must remain outside of the ½ -mile buffer established for Golden Eagle nests as posted.

K.       Hunting is permitted only through a special application and drawing process.
